Excavator Hydraulic Pump Parts

The excavator hydraulic pump is composed of two pump gears installed on the same shaft, which distributes the rotational force to each shaft through the gear mechanism, and transmits the rotational force of the prime mover to the front drive shaft to drive the two pumps. It can also drive auxiliary pumps mounted on different shafts. It consists of two symmetrical rotor piston pumps at the front and rear as well as corresponding regulators and pilot pumps. Each auxiliary pump has a rotary swash plate and rotary swash plate adjusting screw for regulating the maximum and minimum flow rates.


The main pump part of the hydraulic pump is mainly used for the slewing parts that control the slewing movement, the inclined plate assembly for controlling the hydraulic oil discharge, the valve body assembly for switching the suction and discharge of hydraulic oil, and the components for transmitting the drive shaft of the gear pump.

1. Turn the components

Rotating components include drive shafts, cylinder blocks, plungers and sliding shoes, setting discs, ball bushings, collars and hydraulic cylinder springs. The propeller shaft is supported by bearings at both ends. The hoof block is embedded in the plunger, forming a spherical connection. It has a groove that reduces the thrust caused by the load pressure for hydraulic balance, so it can move slightly on the shoe tray. Under the action of hydraulic cylinder springs, the assembly consisting of a plunger and a shoe block is tightly pressed against the shoe disc by a seat and a ball shaft sleeve. Similarly, under the action of hydraulic cylinder springs, the cylinder block presses the valve disc.

2. Rotate the swash plate assembly

The rotary swash plate assembly consists of a rotating swash plate, a shoe plate, a rotating swash plate support, an oblique bushing, an oblique pin and a servo plunger. A rotating swash plate is a cylindrical component that forms a cylindrical surface on the opposite side of the sliding surface of the shoe block and is supported by a rotating swash plate. When the hydraulic pressure controlled by the regulator enters the hydraulic chamber located at both ends of the servo plunger, if the plunger moves to the left or right, the swash plate slides over the swash plate support through the spherical part of the oblique latch, never changing the tilt angle.

3. Valve body assembly

The valve body assembly consists of liquid, disc and disc pin, and the disc with two curved ports is fixed to the valve body and removed from the cylinder block

Oil collection or oil supply to the cylinder block, the oil changed by the pilot valve disc is connected to the external pipeline through the valve stem. If you look closely at a single plunger, it will make a movement away from the valve disc within 180 degrees (oil absorption process) and another 180 degrees towards the valve disc (or oil drain process). When the inclination angle of the rotating swash plate is 0 degrees, the oil drain is not carried out without the plunger forming.
