How To Maintain Excavator Hydraulic System

For a fully hydraulic excavator, it can be said that the hydraulic system is like the blood circulation system of the human body throughout the excavator. It includes a hydraulic oil tank, a main pump, a multi-way valve, various lines, and a cylinder that performs various actions. Motors and other hydraulic components are precision-machined. They have high requirements for the maintenance of the hydraulic system. Improper maintenance or failure to maintain will cause failures, cause machine shutdown, and bring you loss. (1) Change the hydraulic oil and filter regularly

Good hydraulic oils contain a variety of additives that prevent the oil from spoiling. However, these additives lose their effectiveness over time. Therefore, the oil should be changed regularly to ensure that the additives work. Filters can only absorb a limited number of dirt particles and other impurities from the oil. For Hitachi ZX series (medium-sized) machines, please replace the hydraulic tank oil return filter every 1000 working hours, and clean the hydraulic oil tank suction filter when replacing the hydraulic oil in order to keep the system clean. When replacing the hydraulic oil filter, please check whether there are metal particles or debris on the bottom of the filter; if copper or iron debris indicates that the hydraulic motors or valves , hydraulic pumps,  may be damaged or about to be damaged, if it is rubber, it means the hydraulic cylinder Damaged seal.

(2) Drain the fuel tank regularly

It is very important to regularly discharge the water and sediment in the oil tank to remove impurities in the oil, but it is also important to regularly replace the hydraulic oil in the entire hydraulic system. This is the only reliable way to completely remove system impurities, oxidized hydraulic oil and other harmful impurities. (3) Cleaning

If the hydraulic oil is contaminated, especially when the pump, cylinder or motor is damaged, all hydraulic oil must be replaced and the fuel tank must be cleaned. Keep the work area clean. When replenishing or refilling the oil tank with hydraulic oil, make sure the area around the filter box cover is clean. Use only clean funnels or containers. Never bring dirt into the system. When servicing the hydraulic system, use only clean plastic plugs to seal the ends of the pipeline. When servicing hydraulic components, the workbench must be absolutely clean. Check the condition of the tools used, they should also be very clean.
