The A11VO is a core hydraulic power component for coal mine and tunnel boring machines. Designed specifically for extreme underground operating conditions characterized by high dust levels and severe impacts, it serves as the standard main oil pump for the EBZ series of mainstream boring machines.
1. Shock and Vibration Resistance: When the cutterhead breaks through rock, it generates severe random shock loads. The A11VO’s swashplate damping structure effectively absorbs vibrations transmitted back through the hydraulic system, preventing bearing fracture and spool plate scuffing, and ensuring suitability for harsh underground conditions.
2. High-Pressure Output: With a rated operating pressure of 350 bar and a peak pressure of up to 400 bar, it provides sufficient high-pressure power for star wheel loading, track travel, and cutting arm elevation, ensuring high torque output during hard rock tunneling.
3. Through-Shaft Series Configuration: Given the extremely limited space within the roadheader’s body, the A11VO supports 100% through-shaft drive, allowing the auxiliary pump to be connected in series directly behind the main pump. This configuration simultaneously drives the spray dust suppression and cooling circuits without the need for an additional power divider, significantly saving internal space within the machine body.
1. Small- to medium-power models (EBZ110/132/160): Standard configuration features a dual A11VO145 variable-displacement pump set, covering conventional coal tunneling requirements.
2. Heavy-duty hard rock models: Utilize a high-displacement A11VO190+A11VO190 combination, suitable for heavy-load cutting operations in high-hardness rock formations.
3. The control system primarily uses LRDU electro-hydraulic composite control: It supports remote power adjustment from the operator’s cab, automatically reduces flow and increases torque in hard rock conditions, and rapidly triggers a pressure cutoff when the cutting head stalls to prevent the motor from overloading and tripping.
Oil Level and Temperature: Confirm that the oil tank level is above the mark and that the oil temperature is within the normal range of 30–60°C.
Steering and Rotational Speed: Briefly activate the motor to verify that the rotation direction matches the arrow on the pump housing, preventing cavitation caused by reverse rotation.
Filter Element Condition: Open the end cap of the high-pressure filter and check whether the filter element is clogged with metal debris or nylon fibers.
No Pressure/Low Pressure: First, check if the feedback pressure at Port X is normal; then confirm whether the LS valve has been fully loosened or is stuck in the fully open position.
Excessive Pressure Upon Startup: Check for abnormal external pressure at Port X; inspect whether the LS valve spool is stuck in the closed position. You may try soaking it in diesel fuel and then gently tapping it to reset it.
Significant Pressure Fluctuations: Check for air ingress in the system; ensure the suction line is sealed and free of air leaks; inspect the pressure-regulating spring for breakage or deformation.
Pump Body Emits a High-Pitched Whining Sound: This is most likely caused by cavitation due to air ingestion. Check whether the suction filter is clogged and whether the tank vent is blocked.
Pump body becomes abnormally hot to the touch: Check whether the system has been experiencing prolonged high-pressure overflow; confirm that the oil viscosity is suitable for underground operating conditions; inspect whether the internal plunger pairs show severe wear.
Noticeable knocking sounds during operation: Shut down the machine and check the coaxiality of the pump shaft-end coupling; confirm whether the internal bearings and slide shoes are loose or damaged.
